Internships

Legacy accepts students from a variety of disciplines, with psychology, social work and nursing being the primary areas of concentration. Upon request, consideration may be given to students coming from other disciplines. The intent of our internship program is to complement the academic learning experience of students by providing opportunities for direct clinical and administrative activities.
Supervision of each student is performed by a qualified, trained human service professional that collaborates with the student in the development of an individual placement plan. All student placements include an agency and program level orientation to the human service community and to the agency and its services, as well as specific supervision and training regarding clinical and administrative techniques.
Legacy Treatment Services’ field contact will represent the agency to all schools. Acting as an initial liaison between Legacy and field placement coordinators from universities and colleges, the contact person will accept internship referrals and triage students to appropriate departments.
Students looking for an internship should view the Internship opportunities listed in the Careers Listing link above and complete the application for those opportunities that are of interest. Please be sure to include your internship and supervision requirements.
