Legacy’s Adolescent Residential Services (ARS) program offers treatment, therapy, support, and housing to over 270 youth annually throughout New Jersey. The youth experience a variety of mental and behavioral health challenges and diagnoses, all requiring the professional level of care and expertise Legacy provides.
Legacy Treatment Services is pleased to announce the addition of two new Psychiatric Community Homes to our ARS network, Shine and Amwell. There has been a big need for homes aimed at treating girls with mental health struggles and traumatic experiences within the state of NJ for many years. The girls struggling with these issues often find themselves on long waiting lists, some never being offered the treatment and care they so desperately need. Recognizing this need, Legacy is expanding its ARS network to include these two additional homes, which will be specifically aimed to support neuro-typical girls ages 11-19 experiencing mental health crisis or who are in need of trauma recovery. Shine and Amwell will be able to accommodate an additional 10 youth every 8 months, helping to decrease the number of our fellow New-Jersians who were formerly unable to receive such resources and support. Additionally, the Shine and Amwell Houses will offer a more intensive-level of care than the existing ARS units, allowing Legacy to comprehensively treat its consumers and their complex needs in a holistic manner.
We are confident the Shine and Amwell Houses will be a much welcome addition to Legacy’s network of care and the community as a whole, and look forward to their opening in the coming months.
