Legacy is one of the largest providers of youth residential homes for children who have faced abuse, neglect, trafficking, or severe behavioral challenges. Our 30 residences are safe havens for youth aged 11-19, who have presented with significant trauma. Our homes provide therapy and psychiatric services, recreation and field trips, life skills tutoring, socialization, and, most importantly, strive to provide these children with the special attention and care they need to feel safe and supported.
Our TRAIL (Transitional Assisted Independent Living) Program supports young adults who are aging out of the child protective system. We offer essential life skills and job readiness training to help these young adults successfully transition to independence and reduce their risk of poverty.
Our Dreamers Entrepreneurial Program provides at-risk youth in our community with learning opportunities and access to computer hardware and software applications that allow them to learn desktop publishing, graphic design, product creation, and various computer programming skills. Our Legacy Dreamers Business Academy teaches teens about starting businesses, financial literacy, and becoming self-sufficient. The Dreamers Café, a food service hub open Monday-Thursday, is youth-run with adult supervision. The café provides an opportunity for youth to learn, hands-on, about taking payments, ordering supplies, and running a food service business.
Our PATH and ECSS Programs provide support for at-risk individuals and families who are homeless or home-insecure. Our agency offers mental health services, emergency housing stays, transportation to medical appointments or jobs, food and hygiene kits, and countless resources to our community members in need.
For our community’s disadvantaged families, our Generations Family Success Center provides free and accessible workshop courses to navigate their finances and life challenges. We educate our clients in budgeting and debt management, homeownership, taxes, job interviewing skills, resume writing, parenting skills, support groups, child psychology courses, and much more. This Center also offers free after-school tutoring, family activities, and provides school supplies, holiday gifts, baby care items, and basic necessities.
Legacy also offers Supportive Inpatient Homes and six Outpatient Mental Health Facilities throughout the state for those experiencing a mental health crisis. These are safe, supportive in-patient programs for adults in crisis that serve as a therapeutic alternative to hospitalization or for those who need a transition period after an inpatient hospital stay. These homes offer support groups, co-occurring substance abuse services, wellness recovery action planning, housing assistance services, life skills training, and follow-up case management.
These are just a sampling of our 70+ programs that serve our community’s most vulnerable. To learn more about our programs, visit the Services tab on the home page of this website!
