Thanks to a generous donation by First Colonial Community Bank, Legacy was able to fund a recent field trip to the Adventure Aquarium in Camden for a group of families who are served through Legacy’s Generations Family Success Center. The kids and their parents had so much fun exploring and learning about the different fish and sea creatures, habitats and exhibits! Jennifer’s family, including her four children, participated in the trip and really enjoyed themselves. She said that her “family would never have had an opportunity to participate in such an activity if it were not for wonderful programs like Generations.”
Jennifer learned about the Center a year ago and has been utilizing a variety of its programs and resources ever since. She takes part in the Mom’s Breakfast Club, grocery bingo, diaper derby, and recreational activities such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt and the Adventure Aquarium trip. Jennifer uses the Center as a place for herself to take time to socialize with others who understand her family and are looking for the same kind of support. Jennifer explains, “[Generations] opens my eyes to things I’ve never even thought about. I am learning so much about parenting, community resources and job skills.”
Opportunities like the Aquarium trip, as well as various educational workshops and speakers, provide Generations’ consumers with life-changing experiences and supports. Generations not only provides consumers with essential items such as groceries and diapers, it also offers lasting memories for families in our community.
