Treatment home parents from Legacy affiliate Community Treatment Solutions (CTS) were given an appreciation brunch in their honor by clinicians during May for all that they do for children in need of therapeutic help throughout the year. But the kids they serve also wanted to give their thanks. This idea grew into a video that was made of the children expressing their appreciation for their treatment home parents on camera that premiered during the brunch. For those kids who could not be recorded, they provided quotes that were posted on a treatment parent wall (see above photo).
Treatment home parents at CTS are the primary therapeutic agents and are specially trained, licensed and clinically supervised to implement the treatment goals for each child. By providing a nurturing, home like environment, they work with the CTS clinical team to effectively build on the strengths-based clinical objectives. Each home has access to case management services on an ongoing basis, as well as to the child’s clinician. The treatment parents are also responsible for transporting the children in their home to all medical, dental and school appointments.
The parents were each presented with a keepsake planter to take home, which read “Always know, that the seeds you plant will someday grow.”
