When a client’s life unraveled due to homelessness, Legacy Treatment Services became a lifeline. After being referred to the Enhanced Community Support Services (ECSS) program, she found not just shelter, but a community that truly cared.
“I became homeless when my now ex-husband was incarcerated, and I lost my housing. When I stayed in a motel, Legacy brought me microwaveable food,” she shares. “It meant the world to me. It proved that people still cared—not just because it was their job, but because they wanted to help.”
The food support she received during this difficult time was especially meaningful. “The first meal I received was overwhelming. I couldn’t believe I was receiving a complete meal,” she recalls. This support not only nourished her body but also restored a sense of dignity when she needed it most.
For her, the food programs were a vital part of her recovery. “Without Legacy, I wouldn’t have shelter or the support I needed to find my apartment,” she says. “The staff is kind, considerate, and goes above and beyond to help.”
Today, with a permanent home secured, she feels relief. “I’m happy because I don’t have to worry about where I’m going to lay my head at night. I have a permanent address and shelter.”
Legacy’s food programs, like the Holiday Food Drive and Thanksgiving meal deliveries, have made a profound impact on her family’s well-being. “Legacy cares about the community,” she emphasizes. “I would definitely recommend Legacy to anyone going through a similar situation.”
Thanks to the support of Legacy Treatment Services, this family is rebuilding their lives with the help of compassionate staff and vital resources, finding hope in a future once clouded by uncertainty.
