Legacy Treatment Services and Woods Services are now formally affiliated!
Legacy’s partnership with Woods Services will allow the two organizations to provide a coordinated system of care for people who struggle with medical and behavioral health care issues that stem from intellectual and developmental disabilities, genetic disorders, child welfare issues and brain trauma.
Originally announced in June 2018, the affiliation was formally approved by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families and the NJ Attorney General’s Office, effective Jan. 1 of this year.
Woods Services, based in Bucks County, PA, provides services to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Legacy, which has Community Treatment Solutions has an affiliate, is the fifth affiliate of Woods, joining Archway Programs; Allies, Inc.; Woods Community at Brian’s House; and Tabor Services.
“We know that this new affiliation will give both organizations access to exceptionally innovative and dynamic services to positively impact every individual we serve,” said Legacy CEO Roy Leitstein, who was also named as Woods’ first Chief of Population Health Strategy as part of the affiliation.
“Legacy Treatment Services is excited to have found a partner with a shared sense of mission and organizational culture that believes in doing what is best for our consumers and staff,” said Legacy Board of Trustees Chair Gloria Miller. “We are excited to collaborate with Woods to further expand our continuum of services.”
Legacy’s work with Woods has already begun, as it was able to help Woods launch its “Clinical Transformation,” helping to develop new clinical treatment models tailored to the specific populations of children with intellectual disabilities that Woods serves, in late 2018.
According to Woods President and CEO Tine Hansen-Turton, some highlights of the program include a major investment in clinical and support staff; an enhancement of clinician-to-client ratios; implementation of evidence-based, outcome-driven interventions; and treatment-based assessments.
